🎉 Welcome to Our Supporters!

A huge welcome to all of our new subscribers and allies - and an equally big thank you to those continuing on this journey with us.

SAIFCA is growing rapidly, and your support is essential in our mission to:

🛡️ Protect children from AI-related harms

💡 Inspire a future generation to ensure AI aligns with human well-being

🤝 Contribute meaningfully to global efforts on AI safety

We’re incredibly grateful to have you on board! 🙏

🎤 A Very Special Thank You to Sir Stephen Fry

We’re honoured to share that Sir Stephen Fry has publicly supported SAIFCA and our mission to protect children from the risks posed by AI.

Stephen has long been one of the UK’s most respected public figures - a celebrated writer, actor, broadcaster, and advocate for mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental protection, and digital responsibility. He has also spoken out powerfully about the risks of AI, including the unauthorised cloning of his voice.

Here’s what he said about SAIFCA:

SAIFCA is doing something quite incredibly important and should be highly praised.

AI is simultaneously thrilling and chilling, promising and threatening - a whole new generation of children is now growing up in a new age where AI will be prevalent and baked into so many devices and services that they will take it for granted.

Unintended consequences through AI misalignment is one danger, another is the dark menace of predatory and malicious humans armed with some of the powers of deception and manipulation that AI can lend them.

Without being hysterical or overreactive SAIFCA reminds us to be aware of this as the technology speeds up. We should be very grateful for them and attend to their ideas and recommendations.

- Sir Stephen Fry

Thank you Sir Stephen!

🆕 New Articles: AI Companions and ‘Nudify’ Apps

This month, we’ve published two important pieces on rising threats facing children.

🔹 AI Companions – We explore a new report revealing how some of the most urgent risks we’ve warned about are already happening. The need for urgent safeguards is now undeniable. 👉 Read the article

🔹 AI 'Nudify' Apps – Our new explainer outlines how AI is being dangerously misused to create fake nude images of children and young people, and what parents and educators need to know. 👉 Read the article

You’ll also find these recent additions:

  • 🎤 Our first 'Young Voices on AI' article: a perspective on why AI education in schools is vital.
  • 📺 Two new talks on the risks of AI griefbots with SAIFCA director Tara Steele.

📢 In the News: A Disturbing New Investigation

We also recommend this important - and deeply concerning - report from the Internet Watch Foundation. Their investigation found AI-generated CSAM hosted on a chatbot website.

📺 One to Watch: The Power of Collective Action

This month’s recommended watch isn’t about AI - but it is a powerful one-minute reminder of what becomes possible when people come together for a shared cause.

As we grow the Safe AI for Children Alliance, it’s a good reminder: real progress is always possible - even in the face of huge challenges!

📣 Can You Help?

We’re looking for volunteers who want to offer their skills or ideas to help SAIFCA grow.

This month, we’re especially keen to hear from people who have concrete ideas for how they could contribute based on their expertise. For example:

  • 🎨 Graphic designers who could help with a logo rebrand
  • ✍️ Writers with an interest in AI and child safety
  • 📢 Creators or influencers who could expand our reach
  • 🤝 Strategists or project managers who could lead outreach initiatives
  • 🧩 Community builders with experience coordinating volunteers

If you’re not able to volunteer but still want to support us, please share this newsletter - it really helps!

👉 Please reach out by emailing info@safeaiforchildren.org if you’d like to get involved. We’ll read and value every message, even if we’re not able to reply to all!

We will enter your details onto our private database so that we can reach out in future. Your details won’t be shared in any way.

Please be sure to include your name and contact details, and a link to further details where possible (eg. your website or LinkedIn, if you have those).

🧡 Thank You

There’s so much more going on behind the scenes that we’re excited to share in the near future.

We’re so grateful to have you with us.

Together, we can protect children from AI-related risks - and shape a future where technology serves their wellbeing, not undermines it.

Thank you for being part of this mission!

Warm wishes,

The SAIFCA Team
