About Tara Steele
International Association for Safe and Ethical AI inaugural conference at the OECD headquarters in Paris, February 2025.

Recognised as one of the 2025 Leading Women in AI by ASU+GSV, Tara focuses on AI safety and child protection. She founded SAIFCA to ensure that children’s needs are not overlooked as AI capabilities grow – and to help build a future where technology is developed with wisdom and care.

Tara regularly speaks and writes about the risks AI poses to children, including appearances in UK Parliament and contributions to international coalitions and forums. She is a Council Member of the International Association for Safe and Ethical AI (IASEAI) and on the Strategy Panel for AI in Education (UK).

In her current role, Tara leads SAIFCA’s strategic vision, public outreach, and partnerships, working closely with a growing network of educators, researchers, and policymakers.

With a career background as an Intelligence Officer, a term served as Vice-Chair on the Board of Governors at a large UK Primary School, a First-Class Law Degree and multiple certifications in AI Governance, Ethics and Safety, Tara brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to her leadership of SAIFCA.

“Protecting children today plays a vital role in shaping a safer AI future for everyone.”
